What are the MUST HAVE apps?
Join the discussion! There are too many apps out there to keep up with and our teachers, like many others are too busy to keep up. I could go on for hours and pages about the many 'cool' apps out there but this is a quick piece to share with you what just a couple of the TOP iPad and iPhone apps are for our teachers. Do you think there are OTHER top apps that teachers should know about? Please share on by adding a comment on this discussion page!
Remind (formerly Remind101)
This powerful yet simple app is at the top of the MUST HAVE list for teachers. Create an account and invite parents (or students) to connect with you. Once connected you can send individual or group messages, or reminders, you can even schedule messages to go out. It keeps phone numbers private, and keeps a history log of messages for you. You can even ATTACH documents, photos or PDFs and see who has viewed them. A brand new way to share the classroom news! (FREE)
Do you have an informal assessment or review to cover? Turn it into a game! Practice word work, vocabulary, math facts and so much more in a fun way! Easy to setup, easy to share (or borrow) with other teachers and students at all ages and ability levels can participate. Works with your SmartBoard, iPad and iPods. (FREE)
Class DoJo is a powerful Behavior Management app. Encourage positive behaviors and engagement with positive feedback. You can also track student behaviors, share classes with other teachers, and share individual students with their parents. (FREE)
Want to encourage students to share their research, their stories, their work in a new and different way? Consider offering them the choice of using Comic Book.
